THEODORE MARTLAND

Filmmaking

A Master of Fine Arts candidate at University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, Theodore is concentrating in directing, cinematography, and writing for the screen.

Studying philosophy, rhetoric and communication at the University of Richmond, Theodore auteured two documentary films, which brought him deep into Burmese and Indian Buddhist culture. He also
attended Uppsala University in Sweden, through which he studied international media and communication in London.

Theodore's artistic interests include intercultural communication through film, anecdotal
legend, film as collective memory, spirituality, mysticism and their fantastical visual correlatives.

Acting

Theodore's acting experience ranges from Off-Broadway theatre in New York City to lead roles in
independent short and feature films. Recent film and television roles played: Simon, Chaz, Surfer, and Private Joseph
Stingler.
